Ok i was born in Russia, Moscow but moved to california, usa when i was around 4 years old. I learned how to speak Russian but have forgotten a little but trying to get it back. But i havent learned how to read or write russian how can i learn?

I am trying to learn how to speak English with a Russian accent so I can audition for a play. I would really appreciate any suggestions for changing the sound of certain letters.

I've noticed that my biggest problem with learning Russian has been my inability to remember vocabulary. I can remember (most of) the rules for which gender/case/tense gets what ending, but I spend far too much time looking up words in a dictionary.

Does anyone have any recommendations for effective ways to learn foreign language (particularly Russian) vocabulary? I'm well aware that there's no "shortcut" to learning a language, but maybe some of you have some useful suggestions!

There are four Russian courses here: Beginning I and Beginning II as well as Intermediate I and Intermediate II. I'm relatively bright and have always done well in school, but I was wondering how long it takes a person to learn Russian in a college environment.

i ve installed an english version of vista ultimate. on it ive included the russian keyboard layout and i can type in russian language as well. The problem is that when it comes to installing any software with a russian interface, all i see is ??????????????, ??????? meaning OS cant interprete the cyllic fonts. I was randomly wondering about the number of tenses in the Russian language. I remember someone once told me that there are around 50-something, and that we don't use a lot of them (from old Russian?) and don't notice when we use the rest. That sounds like an insanely large number, and I have no idea if there's any inkling of truth in it as I've been living in America for 12 years and speak Russian only at home (never formally studied grammar). I'd love to hear any thoughts about this!

My husband is Russian, but I'm not. Our son is 2.5 years old and is really close to my husband's parents mostly because they live only 25 minutes away from us.
