I really need this, because everytime when My computer reads russian, it just gives out unknown characters.

hey everyone, first off i would like to say i am very interested in the russian language and even would like to learn the culture.

but more importantly i would love to know how to write my name in russian characters. And i would be extremely grateful if you have a link or any information on the rules of writing of your name.

Just to follow the trend. It looks things are going this way. China and Russian and Iran should follow what US and UK did, to hold hearings on this, what do you say ?

If I were to learn Russian from a 1971 course (which I have access to) would I run the risk of learning a lot of outdated vocabulary and possibly certain grammatical points? Or has it largely remained the same?

I already know (most) of the Russian alphabet, though I'm certain I can't say it correctly. Which is why I would like to know how to pronounce them in English text.

Hello! At my university I will have to do my 3 weeks practice now. I have never taught before and I will have my first lesson of Russian language in a high-school soon. I would like to do my best and not to bore the children as they are very motivated at the moment. I will teach 9th(beginners) and 11th(intermediate level) grade. Babelfish can translate from Russian to English, but not from Cyrillic alphabet to Latin alphabet. How do you do this, and is there some sort of translator-site which does this?

Is Ukrainian based off of Russian? is it very similar like how America and England speak English but use some different terms and have different accents? I'm just kind of curious...I don't know much about it and I didn't really understand what some of the websites I looked on, meant.

I want to learn Russian, German, French, and Italian. I've looked at all sorts of CD programs for your computer which teach your the language. The only downside is that the reviews for these products are bad. Does anyone know or has had experience with a CD program that works?
