well I am a newbie at learning new languages and I'd like to know what would be the easiest to use.Should I use Rosetta Stone?Or just books?Could I find things online for free? I am writing a short story and am looking for the Russian translation of "Are you scared?" rendered in the Latin Alphabet. Using an online translator I came up with: “Novaya ya?”

In this instance it is a brother asking a sister if she is scared. I know some languages have familiar forms of you, not sure if Russian does.

Not sure if this would make a difference but this conversation would be happening circa 1916.

I can't write in Russian, I can read some Russian. But I do speak fluently in Russian, with exception of few words. I almost have my associates degree.

I have installed a russian copy of windows XP on my desktop, and I can't seem to change the language of the GUI to the English language... I got ALL of the programs to install and run in english, but I can't get windows to change the language that it is using... I have already tried to change it in the regional settings and I also tried installing the MUI... Nothing works... What should I do?
