My husband immigrated to the US 12 years ago from Russia. He is looking into the Navy, specifically CTI. His step-father (who is a retired Navy recruiter) has implied that he would be able to go for Russian, but didn't mention any of the schooling information that I've found on line. What are his chances of getting to speak Russian?
ASVAB scores are well above what is needed for this rating.

I'm trying to learn Russian, and it wasn't specified in the books I'm using. One book didn't even include anything about handwritten Russian!
If there are any websites or anything that can help with this, they would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

The hotel is in america. The owners are not american, nor are they russian. However, 50% feels it necessary to speak the russian whenever wherever, frankly, it stinks of discortesy and an unwillingness to absorb a trace of american english. How can I broach this subject to the superiors and get it halted or slowed?

In the word Het (no) it is pronounced "nyet"
however in this word очень, it is pronounced ochen?
WAIT or am I just being weird and making up ochen and it's actually ochyen.
Also, I still don't quite understand the ъ and ь things. I know it's soft and hard sound, but what does that even mean?! Examples please!

I LOVE Russian folk music. I also play piano. I would love to be able to play some traditional Russian pieces on the piano, but it's near impossible to find piano arrangements for Russian folk music. I'm talking about sheet music with two hands, not just a melody line. I would really appreciate anyone who could direct me to some online or a sheet music book on an online store somewhere. Thanks!

I'm majoring in International Studies and I have to pick a language to study. French would be better if I went into diplomacy but learning Russian seems so interesting. Any words of wisdom?

Who can tell me how I can say "have a nice flight" in russian language. Please use both Kyrril alphabet for original phrase and latin or IPA for pronunciation.
I know something like "dobroma puti". What does this exactly mean. It is spelled as it is.

I've already got the alphabet down and all of the sounds, but are there any websites for grammar or vocabulary? And if you speak Russian as a second language, tell me how hard it was. I think it's a lot like English, but maybe that's just me. Can you give me any free websites that you learned from. And if you've used Rosetta Stone, tell me how hard that was and about how long it took you. And yes, I use LiveMocha.

I want to learn one. Either one will do, but I just want to know the best way to learn if you live in the U.S.A and surrounded by people who only speak English?
Note: D: I don't have enough money for a Rosetta Stone, so that doesn't count. TT.TT
