It took me a long time to get to know the 'normal' Russian alphabet (as found in press, online, etc.)
Is it also essential to know the written Russian alphabet and read it? Or will it be sufficient if I can write in 'printed' alphabet?

I am a college student majoring in Criminal Justice and I am considering taking courses in either of these two languages. We have a great professor here who apparently is great at teaching kids the Russian language but I am curious as if their is any need to learn Russian or should i just go with Arabic

Some people say it's 'princessa' and others 'printsessa', but I've got no idea. Please don't say 'принцесса' because that is in Cyrillic characters. Thanks.

My summer was great.
I met all my friends and that was really amazing because we all are from different towns.
Also I went to the seaside. The weather was great and I had an amazing time.
Then I went to a wedding near Bansko city.
It was in the mountain and despite the beautiful view, the whole event went perfect.
The summer passed so fast but I have great memories left.
I can even say that this was the best summer untill now!

I am currently going to school at a community college to specifically learn Russian. It seems to be going alright but the idea of spending thousands of dollars on a education I feel I can get in a matter of months by going to Russia and speaking it seems silly to me. What are some options I have? Are there jobs I can get in Russia without a degree? I can teach English, but all of the places I have looked at want a BA to work. Any ideas?

I need to know if I am pronouncing these sentences correctly:
Ты сводишь меня сума: T s-vo(ryhmes with foe)-dish menya so-ma.
Мне так хорошо с тобою: Men-a tok(ryhmes with sock) kharasho stow-boy.
(Don't know the cyrillic form but it translates to "I don't speak english"): Ya nyea ga(rhymes with да)-va-roo po(as in police)-an(sorta sounds like on)glee-ski.
I need as much detail as possible.

I've found a few different ways, and I'm wondering what would be the most correct to the American sounding 'Peter'
Would it be Петер?
Питер?
Also does anyone know a program/website i could use to see different fonts for the name?

If you're not a native speaker then don't even waste your time. No Google Translate! I shouldn't have to tell you guys that...
Is there no word for eyeliner? Why are there three words in the Russian language for eyeliner? Or is that just the translator?

My ferret escaped yesterday and one of my neighbors found him and kept him safe. When they saw me they returned him to me. I was so relieved! These neighbors are from Russian (I'm from the US) and don't speak any English.
Even though they didn't want a reward, I feel like I need to give them something. I was thinking about getting them a book in Russian, and then write a little note in it on how thankful we are (translated into Russian). Anyone else have any ideas on how I can show our thanks? I don't know much about Russian culture so I'm not sure what an appropriate gift is.

How do you say "you don't speak Russian well enough to move to Russia." When google translates it, it says "Вы не владеющих русским языком достаточно хорошо." Why not simply говорите and do you say "достаточно" or "довольно"?? Спасибо!

I need a answer from a REAL RUSSIAN RAISED IN RUSSIA! I DON'T WANT SOMEONE WHO THINKS THEIR SMART TO USE INTERNET TRANSLATOR!
I am asking a question to the Russian Post and American Dialect is very difficult for native Russians who speak english.
I am talking the prepaid international calling cards. Internet translation doesn't help at all. It gets confused with english synonyms.
Please help.

OK, so like.
At school, there are these three Russian brothers who came in near the end of last year. They don't speak English. They don't really have any friends.
I kinda wanna go up and talk to them, but I have no idea how I could keep the whole thing from going really awkward. We've already kinda met before - I introduced myself in Russian and they told me their names - but that's the extent of it. How should I go about it?

I'm a sophomore and he's a junior, and this guy is mad sexy! We met in the hall when he asked for a little direction to class, and we've been through the basic questions asking his name, where he's from, etc. We have no classes together but I do see him at lunch or after school sometimes. If I approach him again, what are some more creative things to talk to him about instead of the questions that ALL exchange students are asked? Thank you for any advice
