Best way to learn Russian after losing it?

I moved from Russia when I was 5 years old and have kept it for years afterwards, but once high school started and I didn't have many Russian friends left to practice it with I began to forget it. Now I'm 18 and would like to improve my Russian, what do you think is the best way to do so?
Thanks,

It’s great that you want to keep up with your Russian! I know how hard that can be though when no one around you speaks it. I would suggest watching Russian TV and videos on YouTube or hunting down a website that streams live Russian radio stations just to get used to hearing it spoken, and to see how much you understand. Also, downloading songs onto an mp3 player to listen to throughout the day is another great way to just re-acquaint yourself with the words and sounds. Buy children’s books in Russian that would be at a level you can read and learn new words from. Another thing you may find helpful is to join the Russian Facebook at vkontakte.ru. Set up an account and find friends you know from there, or make new ones (with caution of course
and they will more than likely be happy to help you practice and teach you!
Hello
A great way to get your language back is to find it where you got it in the first place, technically speaking. I assume you have parents or family who speak Russian? Try it with them! You could always try reading articles on Wikipedia in Russian or watching videos in Russian. The sooner you start the the better if you’ll be. It only goes downhill from here if you don’t do anything about it.
In some cases, you haven’t actually lost it. You’ve misplaced it, so to speak. It’s somewhere in your head, you just need to jog your memory with some Russian. Try to think of something you want to say, try saying it in Russian, and then look up what you forgot or never learned in the first place.
Wow, what a coincidence! I’m from Russia too and I also came when I was 5 years. Luckily for you, you were able to keep on speaking it for a while. My adopted parents didn’t know any Russian so I lost it within a year. I’m 18 also and I’m trying to relearn Russian too. What I’ve found that helps is listening to music. I’ve learned many words through that. I would print out the English translations and read them while I listened to the song. I also found this webiste that helped me a little with Russian. I personally am not that fond of it because it doesn’t teach you the Russian alphabet and so I had to learn that first. But, maybe it will help you.
