I first would like to know how to write Я like in до свидания, it's kind of hard to write in the Я with the cursive.
And can you tell me any tips on how to write in Russian?

1) Start from left down and make a half bend up-left-wards;
2) Continue to make a bend, but then down-right-wards;
3) So you´ll yet have a sharp bend, without having loosened the pen from your hand – right?;
4) At the uppermost point of contacting the first line you´ve drawn (at 1st step) then draw a straight line downwards;
- That´s all.
Note that CURSIVE letters are never equal to TYPED ones. So try and try, but don´t worry so much, as anybody who ever knows Russian (or cyrillic alphabet as a whole) indeed will grasp your handwriting, once it isn´t TOO different of normal form. OK? (Unfortunately I can´t scan a hand drawing of my steps/paces to show you how to do. Anyway I presume there are some books for beginners in a bookstore in your city or around, which shows that, step by step. In the past I´d seen some. You could also try and even insist on finding some on line course in the Net.)

1) " Most handwritten Russian, especially personal letters and schoolwork, uses the cursive alphabet because it is much faster to write than block letters if learned correctly. In Russian schools, most children are taught by first grade how to write using this script. "
