I would like to learn to write/read/speak russian, but I have a question. Do Russians mostly write cursive or regular? Most English people know cursive, but write regular. I was wondering if that's different in Russian.
Another question: if I want to learn to write Russian, should I learn cursive as well?

I have been chatting with a Russian girl through a pen pal website for a couple of weeks now, and we have had a lot of really good conversations, but I am starting to get a little bit suspicious of her intentions. She is very pretty and very smart, and a lot of what she says is really interesting and insightful, but she is starting to get very sensitive about everything I say, and she is insisting that we talk on Skype by video chat very soon, even though we’ve only chatted for a couple of weeks. She is also starting to complain about how she cannot find a boyfriend or a husband in Russia, and has even hinted at wanting to come visit when she is in the States to work next summer. Is this a great potential opportunity, or am I dealing with someone who is trying to use or manipulate me? I have been in similar situations before, but am very confused, having never been in this particular situation. Any advice would be most helpful.

I am a high school student in California, and I wrote a letter that I would like to send to Mr. Putin of Russia. I am a big fan of his political ideology and would like him to see what I wrote. The only problem is I cant find any address to send it to. All I can find is the President of Russia not the Prime Minister.
I'm not joking I am serious

According to what I have read on the internet, there are three ways for Russian letters to appear- printed, italic, and handwritten. But what I was wondering is, it it acceptable to write Russian letters as they are printed?- You know, like English manuscript form. I can read Russian, and, up til now, have been writing Russian the way it appears on the internet (in printed form). But if I were to write a note to a native Russian speaker in printed Russian, would he understand it? And, more importantly, would it be correct? Thanks!

1) What do you think about Maxim talking to fake girls on the Internet?
2) Anna should be proud.
Explanation: the first one is a joke, my friend was caught talking to an online imposter on Facebook. lol and he freaked when he found out. so it's made to sound funny.
Please no Google Translate, prefer a native Russian speaker. 10 pts to best answer. Thanks

You can change the language settings in Yahoo! I have my interface as Russian. This account setting sets the language for Yahoo! Mail But not Yahoo! Answers.
Two part question:
Do you speak Russian?
Would you prefer the interface and questions in Russian (answer in English)?

I am in passionate literary love with Sergei Lukyanenko's Night Watch trilogy, brilliantly translated into English by Andrew Bromfield, courtesy of Miramax Books! Right now, a tornado has hit my life, but these books have saved my sanity. The author deserves to know how awesome he is and how grateful I am for his creation... but the books were originally written in Russian!
Any suggestions on how to proceed? I just want Sergei Lukyanenko to know this and feel the love!

It took me a long time to get to know the 'normal' Russian alphabet (as found in press, online, etc.)
Is it also essential to know the written Russian alphabet and read it? Or will it be sufficient if I can write in 'printed' alphabet?

Some people say it's 'princessa' and others 'printsessa', but I've got no idea. Please don't say 'принцесса' because that is in Cyrillic characters. Thanks.

My summer was great.
I met all my friends and that was really amazing because we all are from different towns.
Also I went to the seaside. The weather was great and I had an amazing time.
Then I went to a wedding near Bansko city.
It was in the mountain and despite the beautiful view, the whole event went perfect.
The summer passed so fast but I have great memories left.
I can even say that this was the best summer untill now!

I need to know if I am pronouncing these sentences correctly:
Ты сводишь меня сума: T s-vo(ryhmes with foe)-dish menya so-ma.
Мне так хорошо с тобою: Men-a tok(ryhmes with sock) kharasho stow-boy.
(Don't know the cyrillic form but it translates to "I don't speak english"): Ya nyea ga(rhymes with да)-va-roo po(as in police)-an(sorta sounds like on)glee-ski.
I need as much detail as possible.

Would it be Петер?
