Does any one know of a free and easy way to learn Russian?
I would like to learn to speak and read Russian. Does anyone know of a free and easy way to learn Russian? I would prefer to find online lessons, particular any mp3 podcasts or something of that sort that I can import into my Ipod . . . thanks!
by the way, I have a Russian girlfriend, hence the motivation to learn in a more formal way. We are both too busy, and live in different cities, so I have to find a way to learn on my own.
Thank you all for your suggestions. Many of your sources point to expensive materials, however. I should emphasize that I'm looking, if possible, for something FREE, and moving to Russia is neither free nor a feasible option for me right now. Thank you again for your suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming! ![]()

I learned how to read Russian with Metal Gear Solid 3.
Whenever Snake would go from one place to another, the screen tells you, during fade-in, where you are: in English AND in Cyrillic (Russian letters). I would hold down the "Change Weapon" or "Item" button to freeze the screen. With a paper and pen, I’d copy what was there, analyze it later, and I learned.
