How can I learn Russian?

It's cool sounding, and i intend on going to Russia, any pointers or tips from someone who speaks Russian? Like how i should go about it, or what to learn first

If you are near a university that offers courses, you might check to see if you can just take the language courses without actually enrolling as a degree candidate. If there are any Russian Orthodox churches in your area you could call the pastor of such and see if anyone in the church would be able to tutor you. Rosetta Stone is a self-teaching method also. Russian is much easier than it looks. The key is to learn the Cyrillic alphabet. Each character has but one sound no matter where it is placed in a word. It makes learning to speak the language and write it very easy – not like English which has more exceptions than rules. Good luck!

You should take classes. It’s always helpful to be bilingual because you can make more friends, and travel around the world and ask things in different languages and not look like an idiot.
