Beautiful
But definitely hard to decipher.
Like most Slavic tongues it sounds like yelling, mostly.
(Hey, I’m Croatian so I know what I’m talking about. It’s like they’re all deaf but they’re not).
Harsh and Garbled.
My husband has relatives and friends that speak a fluent Slovac language(Czech) It is very hard for me to pick up because here in the U.S. were are used to Latin based languages. But, my husband is friends with a man and his wife who adopted a five year old girl from Russia and this man’s father was able to communicate with this little girl quite well because of his Czech language. It really helped the little girl adjust very well.
I was forced to learn Russian while growing up in socialist Eastern Europe in the 1970’s and 80’s, but unlike other of my countrymen, I love Russian language, culture, music, literature and history. I try to speak Russian whenever I can now and am so glad I never lost my knowledge of basic conversational Russian.
I love it.
