How much has the Russian language changed since the 1970s?

If I were to learn Russian from a 1971 course (which I have access to) would I run the risk of learning a lot of outdated vocabulary and possibly certain grammatical points? Or has it largely remained the same?
Thanks for any help with this.

You may learn a lot of outdated Soviet vocabulary… for example, they used to call everyone "comrade." Also, you may miss out on certain Russified foreign words (like, how they say pizza) because the Soviet Union was sort of closed off and a lot of foreign things didn’t really get in until the 90’s.
As far as grammar, I think it would be fine. I’m sure you could get a decent basis for Russian in this course, and even the vocabularly probably would be okay.
