If a company needs a linguist they usually just hire a person from that country, because most countries like Russia are already teaching their college graduates English, since English is the universal working language. On the bright side, the government can only hire US citizens, so if you become a linguist you would have a good shot there.

i am unsure, but i know Spanish and french and both make it easier just to get around. or even to eaves drop. lol jk, but i don’t now about Russian.

Russian is just english with backwards ‘R’s
I made a prototyope keyboard but turning thr ‘R’ key around does not make it appear on the screen backwards..

Chinese is the most spoken in the world. Why not learn that? The gov’t might pay you if you learn Arabic and go over to Iran to eavesdrop on them for "terrorists". Spanish is spoken in many places also, but English has become the respected language almost as back as until Latin died.

You shouldn’t waste your time learning Russian. Your better off learning Spanish or French, those are more common and also easier to learn, also there are several people who speak those languages, so you won’t have any trouble practicing what you’ve learned. Portuguese is another one, but its hard to find any good books.
