I want to learn Russian, German, French, and Italian. I've looked at all sorts of CD programs for your computer which teach your the language. The only downside is that the reviews for these products are bad. Does anyone know or has had experience with a CD program that works?
Thank you in advance ![]()

Z’dravsvit’ye!
That’s Russian for, "Hiya!"
Rosetta sTone seems to be about the best com puter-based language instruction program. I already spoke Russian, French, German and Italian, but needed seriously to brush up. I found Rosetta Stone quite good.
I’ve studied languages for a long time. The MLA system absolutely stinks. Berlitz is Ok for learning some quickie stuff but you have to commit to a long program to get genuinely good.
If you didn’t study languages when you were pretty young, and don’t have an outstanding foundation in your native tongue, you may discover this is heavy going. Given the group of tongues you named, I actually recommend German as the first one to take on. German language structure is challenging, but once you’ve been at it a while, you will have a far easier time with the other tongues. It isn’t the sound, but the IDEAS underlying the language that matter.
Good luck!
ROSETTA
I have Rosetta stone it is a Little expensive but it works great
only 1 and it’s been said already. Rosetta Stone.

Russian!!! great choice lol [im russian ha ha ha] sorry….
well i would have to suggest ‘Rosetta Stone’
in addition, i also suggest finding a native russian person who knows the language well to help you learn. trust me, its easier that way when learning a language.
and if you want some free begginers stuff to start you off, there are some podcasts you can listen to on itunes.
good luck!
