As a standard you must write in cursive.
when I was taking Russian about 10 years ago or so I was told cursive was the standard.
So. Of course you can write it in print, but it’s more difficult. When you’ll write a lot you’ll see it.
Some persons write in print (very few, but there’re such persons). You can do what you want.:-)
Yeah, a majority of Russians write in cursive as it’s much faster and easier than tracing out each letter separately. But it’s ok to write in print as well if it’s easier for you. Actually writing in print is more legible and comprehensible. If you opened my notebooks for lectures, you would understand just nothing, you would probably think it’s the Arabic ligature =)
