Don’t believe what you’ve read so far. Russian is VERY difficult to learn compared with other (especially Indo-European) languages. As categorized by the US military and US State Department, it is a level 3 (out of four) language. In perspective, Korean is a four, Arabic is a three. French is a one.
Like any other language, you must be committed to daily study and review… there is no other way. Russian cases will eventually stop "being" cases to you. They will just become a manner of thinking. But before you get to this point, it is essential to learn the cases and their uses.
Don’t go out trying to learn every use for each case right away… instead, learn in pieces… accusative case for movement, etc. Eventually, you will start adopting the manner with which Russian speakers look at the world.
I’m going through this now, so don’t despair. It’s frustrating, but very rewarding as you progress… good luck!
its the easiest language i’ve learnt.
the letters in the alphabet sound like what they say, so the whole aplhabet is completely phenetic which when your readng russian makes things so much easier.
as for remembering the cases, i just sat down and learnt it
it is difficult to learn I have lived in Rusia for four years but I couldn’t learn exactly,
language has many irregular gramatical rules
Russian is no hard – like any language that you want to learn you need to make sure you understand you own native language’s grammar first, a basic grammar book is ok. this will make learning Russian or any foreign language easier.
i graduated from a russian school and learnt by automatic method, but it is quite easy to learn. Get a good textbook and watch russian tv channels http://www.tnt.ru
i know Russian very well so i can judge objectively, well its not easy language to learn and it has quite difficult grammar and to pronouns words correctly needs a lot of affords. but if you really want to study it, i think its that difficult, so don’t give up.
It’s pretty difficult, at least that’s what I hear from other people. It’s my native language so there wasnt too much I had to learn.
It’s the fashion nowadays
The thing is that when you learn the bases you are given full freedom to create your own ways of saying things. It’s not like "this way and this way only".
It’s a nice language and russian speaking people will definitely love it if you speak even a little iddy bit their language. Plus, to sound smart you can always use russianised english/latin words and phrases instead of actual russian words
