Should i learn Russian or Portuguese?
I can already speak 4 languages and i want to learn one more. I really want to learn either russian or portuguese. Portuguese is a really beautiful language and brazil and portugal are two very beautiful countries with lively cultures. I also know that portuguese would be a lot easier than russian. Russia is not as beautiful a country, but the russian culture is still fascinating as well as russian history and literature. Can you help me decide which language I should choose.

How much time and energy do you have for this project? If you’re limited, learn Portuguese. Russian will take forever, believe me, and it is a lot of strain.
If you learn Russian you will find it’s similar to Polish and Czech. So that will help you learn further languages.
what four languages do you know? if you know a romance language already you might as well learn Russian
I love learning languages as well.
Portuguese is more widely used.
Russian is more unique and interesting.
I would chose Russian.
I’ve been around Spanish-speaking people nearly all my life and when in Mexico found it pretty easy to converse.. I took a pretty intensive 7-hr/day six-month Russian language course in the USAF and found years later that I was retaining the Spanish better because of the much better chance of keeping up with it through day-to-day usage. They are both interesting with the Russian more complex with its use of Cyrillic characters along with Roman and Greek. I would recommend the Russian for the novelty of it if everything else was even but the Portugese if the opportunity to use it is better..
European Portuguese!
Only because I’m portuguese.
I would choose Portuguese.
I was born in Russia, and English is my second language. My mom Only speaks Russian, and i am still having trouble with it. It is that hard. I think the main reason for that is because Russain has no articles. Its sentence struscture is completely diferent from English
On the other hand, it really helps you learn and understand other languages. I am learning Spanish right now, and it is very easy for me. Also, if i listen to someone talking in German , I can understand some of it, or at least the idea.
