I know there must be, I am not completely ignorant. However, I ask because in my little corner of the world, there aren't hardly any. So, if you are out there and you have some type of media with the Russian language or accent, feel free to post it with your answer.

I am a student in mechanical engineering in united states, but i am originally from Russia. I can read, write and speak in both english and russian equally well and do not have an accent in either language. I really want to somehow make use of my fluency in Russian when I graduate. Anybody, perhaps somebody who already works in the field, have any ideas how I can apply my knowledge?

i know bits and pieces of the Russian language, enough to make semi-basic conversation, but I have a strong "american" accent, cannot read or write in Russian, and am missing some important words. my grandma taught me how to read and write in Russian a few years ago, but i forgot it, because i didn't use it much.
what are some good ways to reteach myself the language? I know enough, i think, to reteach myself the language

Because I always get the accent mixed up so I was wondering how similar the languages are.

Joseph Stalin was born in Georgia(Gruziya) and his first language was Georgian. I'm curious if he had a Georgian accent when speaking Russian. He was a leader of Soviet Union and he promoted Russian history and language. Did he speak Russian like a native Russian speaker or did he have an accent?

Especially foreigners whose mother tongue is one of the Latin/Germanic based languages like English,German,Italian,French or Spanish. Since the phonetic system of those languages is completely different from the Russian phonetic system.
I guess it's theoretically possible because, in contrast, as a native Russian speaker, I became fluent in English after 3 years of living in America and completely lost my accent after about 5 years. But then again I started learning English at a very young age. Do you think a middle-aged foreigner would be able to learn Russian to such an extent that he can speak it like a native speaker?

I'm quite serious about learning Russian, as I am planning on attending university in Russia. I'm fifteen, how long would it take me to become fluent? How long would you suggest studying in a day and are there any ways of getting rid of an accent? (I know I have one when I speak Russian) thanks for any answers!!!

One of my characters is an immigrant from Russia. She's a maid for a rich family in Dallas, TX. I really want to capture the accent and pronunciation in her voice. How would I write that? She speaks fluent English, but she still has a fluent, lingering accent.

I didn't see it last night but on last week's episode, where they all went out for Daniel's b-day and got called into a secret interrogation room, he claimed he speaks 5 languages and some lady asked him in Russian "do you speak Russian?" and he was stumbling and making excuses. What the hell? How does he have an accent if he doesn't speak Russian? Do you think the show is fake and he is a paid actor?
If his parents are from Russia, then they would speak Russian at home and he would learn it, too!

I really want to learn how to speak Russian, I really like the language and the accent, and I also plan on visiting Russia after I graduate. Is it a hard language to learn compared to Spanish? Also, what would be a good way to learn it?

I was originally born in Russia and I came here to the U.S. when I was 5 1/2 years old. I used to speak Russian, but I lost it because my adopted parent doesn't speak english. I am now 17 and trying to learn Russian again. How long would it take me to relearn the language? Would I ever be able to get my accent back?

I have to speak in one for a play... I'm playing a person who is loud, large, and "very, very Russian"... it's one of the more humorous roles in the play, so I want to learn a convincing accent. Thanks!
