Is Rosetta Stone a good way to learn Russian?

I've been trying to learn Russian for a week now but I seem to forget the words. Plus the alphabet is very hard to. Help? Any tips? :(

How do you say "I don't speak English" in Russian?

with the alphabet if possible?

I am currently using Rosetta Stone to learn Russian, which is fine but before I try and tackle the whole language I want to learn to read and write it. What would be the best way to learn how to read and write in Russian?
I know that this is a hard language which is one of many reasons I chose it. Planning on going into the Corps, I enjoy difficult challenges and hope to tackle this one. Thanks for the advise so far. However If I were to go from the Wiki article (I considered this earlier) I know that just sounding out a word with their alphabet does not constitute it being the actual word, so where would I go from there?

Websites Where I Can Learn Russian?

So, this is going to be my 3rd foreign language to learn and I am only a teen so I am only looking for the basics and possibly a little farther after the basics. I know some websites like Livemocha.com that work great but I starts out with stuff like how to say Man and Women and then put sentences together and doesn't even go over the alphabet or language rules! So it would be awesome if you all could help with by listing some websites and some interesting techniques that could help me learn Russian! Thanks :)

of course the spanish one would be in spanish and the russian one in russian? could i please get someone to translate them? and for the russian one please write in how the word is pronounced because i'm not the best at the alphabet yet. Cheers!

What is the best Russian language program?

It must teach alphabet/pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading writing, understanding and speaking and should have tapes and books.
It must teach reading, writing, speaking, and reading, grammar and lots of vocabulary. Rosetta stone is okay, but for Russian not amazing. By the way, please give this a star, I really want a lot of answers. Thanks! I'll give the first to give me a star who doesn't have one of those badges top answer.

I'm trying to learn Russian, but I don't know where/how to start. I've tried a few websites, but a lot of them are confusing and/or cost money. Anybody else know how I could get started and get very fluent in it? Thanks!
@Luigi: Thanks, but I already know the alphabet :\ What I was really looking for was how you started learning it/what resources you used to learn the language. Thanks though! :)

Supposing I know the alphabet of both languages (read and write), I know some about declensions, and if I can speak English, Spanish and a little of French and German, which would be the most difficult for me (or anybody) and why?

Is there an alphabet? If so can you tell me how the Russian language works? if their are any vowels etc and how do you write a word together and is their any variations in the style you write it effecting the way it will turn out?

Anyone who can speak Russian ?

Who can tell me how I can say "have a nice flight" in russian language. Please use both Kyrril alphabet for original phrase and latin or IPA for pronunciation.
I know something like "dobroma puti". What does this exactly mean. It is spelled as it is.

I already have Rosetta Stone Russian levels 1, 2, and 3. But I need to start out with the basics like the Alphabet and basic words, Rosetta Stone is great but it just starts out too fast.

How can I learn Russian?

I've already got the alphabet down and all of the sounds, but are there any websites for grammar or vocabulary? And if you speak Russian as a second language, tell me how hard it was. I think it's a lot like English, but maybe that's just me. Can you give me any free websites that you learned from. And if you've used Rosetta Stone, tell me how hard that was and about how long it took you. And yes, I use LiveMocha.

I'm hoping to buy the equivalent of the classic alphabet fridge magnets in bright colours for a little russian friend... but open to whatever comes my way! maybe there are wooden ones out there?

so far can only find a magnet of the whole alphabet rather than each cyrillic letter as i'm hoping for.
any help very much apprecicated!

Every example of the alphabet I've found is either typed or in cursive. I want to know how to write in the "common" way, does anyone know of any examples or traceable sheets like they'd make in grade school? Thanks!

PS - If anyone knows any good beginning russian websites, that'd be much appreciated as well.

is russian hard to learn?

i am planning to order a russian mail order bride and i was wondering how hard it is to learn russian.

it seems that russian has some similar words with the romance languages. i can speak spanish a bit so i difficult would it be?

also, do i have to learn cyrilic alphabet to learn russian? basically i just want to communicate enough with my future russian wife.

i like the sound of the russian language so i prefer to communicate with my wife with russian, not english.

My Friend wants to learn Russian?

My friend wants me to teach him Russian but I said no since I don't have the time. Then he asked me how he should get started learning Russian Words or Alphabet. I have no idea because I just know from when my parents taught me.

I speak English, French and Dutch fluently. I studied latin for 6 years, Greek for 1 year, German for 1 year, Spanish for half a year.
Just so you know, I have learned some languages before, as well as a different alphabet (Greek), and that's not too hard.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the grammar and language/phrase structure. Taking that into consideration, which one is going to be easier to learn?

I'm trying to teach myself Russian, and I've got the grammar and alphabet down. Those aren't the hard parts. But I'm struggling beyond reason with vocabulary. Obviously there aren't any cognates between the languages, which really helped me out when I was learning Spanish. I don't learn things analytically, I learn them through conversation. But since I'm doing this on my own, I don't have anyone to converse with.

Help, anybody?

last name my grilfriend i need tow spelling in alphabet russian

My name maybe a little long, but i was wondering if any1 was up 2 the challenge of helping me write it correctly in Russian. I've tried it so many times, but i keep getting it wrong (im still trying to get the alphabet down). I would be very appreciative if some1 would help me!

Can't get lessons right now but I want to try and grasp the alphabet, not sure how to go about it.

I'm attempting to learn Russian. I know a few words here and there and some of the alphabet, but what would be the easiest way to teach myself without purchasing a program like Rosetta Stone? Thank you very much.

How long will it take me to learn Russian?

If I work at it every day? I'd love to speak Russian. It's a sexy language. It'd feel good to be able to read a different alphabet, too.

I want to learn Russian over the course of the next few years, but I need to start with the alphabet. Can anyone suggest ways they have memorized the Cyrillic lettering successfully?

I'm learning to read and write in Russian.?

I'm looking to learn Russian online, to speak, read and write .I can already read the alphabet, theoreticaly I could read a book, however simply sounding out the words doesn't mean that I understand what i'm reading. Someone told me there are a few free sites, but I don`t know where to look, and am soubting the credibility of a free site. Any advice?
