I'm looking to learn Russian online, to speak, read and write .I can already read the alphabet, theoreticaly I could read a book, however simply sounding out the words doesn't mean that I understand what i'm reading. Someone told me there are a few free sites, but I don`t know where to look, and am soubting the credibility of a free site. Any advice?

I'm teaching myself Russian and I understand the alphabet, male and female words/wording. I kind of know how to write in Russian but, not fully. I really REALLY want to speak Russian but, It's totally different that pronouncing the words. Some Russian words need to be translated to English and some are translated already in English.
I need some help on this. lol HELP!

I took a few years of German in high school and it came easily to me. I think Russian is really awesome and would like to learn it, but because it has such a different alphabet, etc, I'm afraid it will be way too hard. How hard is it to learn, pronunciation-wise, grammar-wise, etc, and what would be an efficient way of learning it?

the alphabet is quite different, and we have until 2014 Olympics to learn how to read a menu and get around Russia.

I was born in Russia, Moscow lived there 4 years parents came to US dunno why, but I really miss Russia and the snow I always loved snow. But I never learned how to read and write Russian but I learned how to read half of the alphabet but not write. I forgot a lot, I cant speak as well as I used to.
I watch Russian tv sometime but not often but I like the movies. I want to watch Brigada but need a good website? Youtube doesnt have all of it.
My mom and dad can read and write Russian so on website they can take me to movie place. I will take Russian at college in my senior year which is this September. I have like 25 Russian music dont think it is enough. When I learn how to read and write perfect will my read write, talk understand get better and stay that way? I need buddies from Russia to make my Russian better if you can help me.

As far as I am aware, there isn't one in the alphabet.

So, im contemplating on learning russian. Is there anything you can tell me about it that can persuade me. hahah

right now im very fluent in spanish, and im learning french.

whats so different about russian that makes it hard? Like iknow they have a different alphabet, but what else is hard?

i think an example of this is grammer, can anyone tell me what its like in english. Like how in spanish and french they say the adjectives after the words.... But how would stuff be in russian?????

Pretty self explanatory, If I want to try to teach myself Russian, should I memorize alphabet and sounds or should I start by learning different words and phrases?

I love the Russian Language, and I want to learn how to speak it. I'm studying the alphabet right now and trying to remember the sounds. How long will it take to speak fluently and if anyone who knows Russian could tell what the main problems are when learning it and how long it may take. ;[)

I am using the "Living Language" program but I can't seem to follow it that closely. Right after the alphabet it takes some large steps that are tough to keep up with. Are there any other programs and/or ways that I can learn Russian?

P.S. I know about Rosetta Stone but it is too expensive

I want to learn russian. I already know the alphabet but i want to learn words. I tend to learn things when educated with precise details. So, I just need some tips on verbs and conjugations etc.
