I'm a native English speaker and I already have 7 years of Spanish experience.
Which would be easier for me to pick up for a college level class where I have to do 2 levels of whichever one I choose? German or Russian?
I am a native English speaker, and now I want to be able to speak another language. I'm particularily interested in the Russian language, (to be honest, I think it sounds pretty cool when its spoken). So what I want to know is how difficult is it to learn the Russian language? And what is the best way to learn it? I've heard of the program Rosetta Stone, and I am willing to pay the 0 for all three levels.
So any advice you're willing to give out, and any information on the Russian language would be much appreciated! Thank you very much!
I'm a native English speaker and would like to learn either Latin or Russian. I took French in college (20+ years ago) and learned a tiny bit of Italian a few years ago.
However, I really want to learn Latin and/or Russian. I have a keen interest in the classics and in Roman culture, but am also a lover of Russian literature, including Russian poetry. (I have a Masters degree in Literature as well.)
I'm trying to decide which language to pursue. Any ideas?
I'm a native English speaker and I also know German.
I'm trying to learn Russian from scratch. I was wondering which book+CD combination would be best for actually learning the language.
Native English speaker, basic French ability, if that helps.
I'm starting my first class in the fall and am wondering what I'm getting myself into. I'm a native English speaker. Of course learning the alphabet will be a struggle but I'm hoping that in reading a totally different text will make it somewhat easier?
I am a native English speaker who speaks a tiny bit of french. I am highly interested in the Russian and Ukrainian langauages. Which one should I learn? Which one is easier and what are the differences?
I am a native English speaker with a very basic background in Japanese and Spanish. I plan to take courses with a private tutor that is a native speaker of which ever language I decide to start with first and possibly a few hours of classroom time every week.
* My intent is to learn to speak and comprehend the new languages only, not read nor write them. Thanks!
I'm a native English speaker. I'm advanced in Spanish. And I live in Croatia, so I'm used to hearing the Croatian/Serbian language, but I don't speak very much of it.
Like what are some decent books or dvds?

Suppose the person wishes to read the great works of Russian literature.
Can you suggest some good books?
My co worker claims Russian is the hardest language for a native English speaker to learn. I don't think so. I thought it would be Chinese.
