You know, like Crime and Punishment and The Brother's Karamazov? They're originally written in Russian but have been translated into English. Do you know any other novels like that?

why is russian literature so important? are most of the novels originally written in russian and then translated to english? i've heard so much of tolstoy and dostoevsky, mostly war and peach and crime and punishment. what others do you recommend?

I love the English translations of French, Russian, and Spanish novels. Since I have never studied a foreign langauage, the pronunciation of the character's names have often been a mystery.
