I'm so confused. The paper is supposed to talk about Russia's part in World War 1, Karl Marx. Leon Trotsky, Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, why there was a revolution and how long the civil war lasted. What thesis statement could relate to all of this? HELP please

I'm going to be doing charity work in Romania in a few months and it was mentioned during a meeting that the older people we will be helping can probably only speak Romania and Russia (as appose to English) and while I am fluent in neither, my Russian is better than my Romanian but I have read in some countries speaking Russian doesn't go down very well. I was wondering if it would be alright for me to use Russian since I find that easier but I don't want to cause any negativity or anything.

The man in my life loves the Russian language and essentially everything about Russia.
I would like to be able to write and say an endearing term in Russian. In English, it's not unusual to call each other dear, sweetheart, love, etc, and I want to know if there's something like this in Russian.
I've seen lots of things to call girls, but those don't help.

Whenever I watch a Russian political guest or a an entreviewer coming on a program, I notice that he/ she speaks pure almost flawless Arabic unlike the other foreigners including the Americans who with no offence speak the worse ever heard Arabic.
Is it related to the verygood Arabic classes they have in Russia , the long historical relations between the Arab world and the Russian Empire, the similarities that might exist between the Arabic and Russian languages or simply because the Russain studend study harder than his counterpart?

2- After the collapse restrictions were loosened and fashion became very popular in Russia
3- brief talk about economic disaster in 2008
4- The rise of fashion in Russia

Hi everyone!
I have a site where I write about dating online, the Russian language, Russian girls and Russian culture. I also offer Russian translation services and other online services.
The site is: http://www.aerotranslate.com/
I add new material on my site almost every day. However, I would be really interested to know what people from other countries want to learn about Russia. Please, share your curiosity and questions with me, and I'll try to answer them here or on my site.
Thank you!

I wanna learn how to speak Russian, I'm 15, I don't know if that makes much a difference. But yeah I wanna go to Russia someday in my life and I just wanna learn how to speak Russian. So how hard would it be to speak it, I mean it is easy to learn? And what are some good programs that I could possibly use to learn?

I understand Russian, can read it and write it, but when it comes to me speaking it, I can't remember many words so I'd always get stuck. What would be the easiest way for me to become fluent? I'm going to Russia for a month in July and I want to be able to speak it 'easily'. Would listening to Russian songs and translating them help?

Hi,
I am trying to find local russian communities online that I can talk to people about the culture. I am not trying to meet women so please do not suggest Dating sites or Marriage Sites. I just want to speak with people who have first had experience living in Russia and maybe to help me with learning to speak proper Russian.
Any help would be great, thank you.

I am considering moving to Russia where I hear English teachers are very much needed. They tell me that although students in this country (and countries where Russian is spoken) are already being taught English in their respective schools, I would be focusing more on helping them in everyday non-grammatical conversational English? To any English teachers out there that have done this, what is the best way to go about this? What strategies have you used? What books have helped you? Thanks

Can anyone teach me russian, or where to learn russian, I can't afford rosetta stone, I don't have any social networking- facebook, skype, myspace, none of that. What is the cheapest but most reliable way to get to Russia?
For anyone that would want to try learning online, I can't use social networking sites. If there is something that can work around this like a pen pal, that would be great.

She is Russian and was born in Russia.
I was trying to say this - You mean more to me than the moon and the stars. I am so thankful for your presence in my life. I willingly give my body, heart, and mind to you. I pray that you keep them well. I love you Ekaterina. I love you with all of my heart.
What should I change?

I've been considering picking up the language now for some time now, but I feel that since Russia is having problems with Russian Ethnic and Racial Nationalist, it would be a waste of time after simply studying it. Any thoughts?

Nobody seems to talk much about them these days, but the Russians are making some nifty cars, some of which I really wouldn't mind owning - stuff with V8s, 4x4s, you name it.
Are they doing crash tests in Russia, too, I wonder?

I would really love to learn Russian and study abroad there. Part of my cultural background is Russian and I would love to "dive deeper" into their history, traditions, and language.
Can anyone give me tips? Some things about Russia/the language you think I should know?

Starting from zero knowledge, studying 2-3 hours a day, with lots of listening and reading material and daily practice with native speakers. Also Russian courses at university.
Any hope to speak it passably in a year?
I live in Canada, many Russians. I might visit Russia for some weeks this year.

Dude, if they've been studying the language for 4 years and still can't keep up a conversation, it just means they're natural-born knuckleheads. You can learn Mandarin in 5 years.

I've been married to my husband for several years. He's from Russia and we have a son. My husband and I speak English together. Sometimes his parents speak Russian and I'm left out of conversations, but rarely. Now we're teaching our son Russian and I wonder if I should learn Russian too. I haven't been motivated, because my husband and his family speak English when I'm around. My husband's taught me some Russian words, but he didn't seem to care if I learned Russian or not. Should I learn Russian? If so, what's the easiest way to learn Russian? Should I have my husband teach me, get audio tapes at the library, or take a Russian language course?

My husband immigrated to the US 12 years ago from Russia. He is looking into the Navy, specifically CTI. His step-father (who is a retired Navy recruiter) has implied that he would be able to go for Russian, but didn't mention any of the schooling information that I've found on line. What are his chances of getting to speak Russian?
ASVAB scores are well above what is needed for this rating.
