We live in Moscow and we are Russians. We want to meet English-speaking person who wants to talk in English. Where can we meet such kind of persons?

I didn't even know that country existed, till I saw the satirical character of Sacha Cohen, Borat, a reporter from Kazakhstan.
I'm just asking if perhaps a long time ago the Chinese emigrated to that country from one side and the Russians from the other, and then mixed and became Kazakhs?
But what I don't understand is how they became Muslim. Did some people from the Arabic countries also move into the country and convert them to that religion?

I play on XBOX 360, if it matters. I've seen videos of people on YouTube of people playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 where either the Russians speak English or the Americans speak Russian.

I've noticed this since using the internet - when Russians write English. Why is this, if I may ask? Always been curious.

I want to meet ones that are already in th US. I guess you can go on-line but how do you find a reputable site. I live in a small town so there is no russians around here. Hope some one knows how to find out more about them. Thanks

I absolutely canNOT make out their cursive! It makes absolutely no sense to me; the letters don't even remotely match what they look like when printed! Do many Russians *use* cursive? I sure hope not... haha Is it imperative to know? And is it something I could learn quickly if I decided to actually travel to the country?

I was wondering if people of Alaska, Russian or America, who practice Russian Orthodox, practice their religion in English or Russian language? Is the Russian Orthodox community mostly Russians? In that case are the services done in Russian? Or is the community more diverse and Americans attend the services too? So my question is: are the services mostly done in Russian or English?
Does Russian Orthodoxy take Exorcism as seriously as the Roman Catholics? are they afraid of demons?

Is there a different word for the Russian and Danish languages? Or is it just Danish and Russian?

Can any of you native Russians or Ukrainian tell what "Tak" means? I was ordering in a restaurant in Moscow and the waiter kept on saying "Tak". Was he saying "Uh huh" or "Okay"? And by the way, could you guys some Russian lessons? Thanks:)

I've recently become interested in learning the russian language. The only problem is that I've no idea which organisations/schools offer russian as a foreign language, so right now I'm trying to teach myself using internet and audio clips. I really want a tutor to teach me the language properly in person so that I'll be able to learn it faster instead of trying to figure out how the language and various variations to pronounciations/sentence structures work on my own. The 3rd language centres over here don't offer russian as a foreign language, and it's really hard to find russians in singapore. I'm currently in the music conservatory at NUS, and I only know 2 russian teachers of mine. But it's kind of hard to ask them for proper russian lessons in the conservatory when my timetable is getting fuller by the semesters. Plus they aren't trained in teaching languages.

Does anyone know where I can go for proper russian lessons, not counting internet, books or going to russia?

American soldiers speak english, german soldiers speak german but russians speak english. Is it too hard to find russian voice actors or something?

I have heard about a language course called The Rosetta Stone that teaches you foreign languages, and from what I have heard, the State Department uses this course to teach their young diplomats foreign languages, and was wondering if there are any Russians on this site that can tell me if this program is good or should I seek out another program to learn Russian?

Do you think the Russian language has a place in the business world?
The Russian economy has developed a lot within the last couple of years, mainly because of the petroleum and the natural gas. However, there is still a lot of corruption and I believe they'll have hardships (the Georgia conflict didn't help them) economically and politically.
Everybody speaks English nowadays, but it seems that the Russians aren't that eager to learn it.
