thank you for this answer, but now, how are they pronounced?
(not knowing Russian or the Russian alphabet, this is obviously spelled in Russian, but translated into English, are the words spelled in English [whatever Russian word "wolf" would be would be spelled "wolf"...or a messed up English spelling of "wolf"...like wulf or something like that?

I'm learning Russian and am practicing translating English into Russian. However, I'm having trouble with some of the rules of pronunciation. I know that O stressed is a short O sound, and unstressed it is A. But when do I know when it is stressed or unstressed? As in the case of words such as Wolf- волк. Is is pronounced Volk, or Valk?
