You might try looking for Sunday classes at a Russian church in your area. The problem is you might be a bit too old for the group they usually have, but I’m sure they’ll figure out something for you. In the meantime, try looking for Russian speaking people in your school.
My friend who lives in the US goes to a thing called КСП (KSP – klub samodeyatel’noy pesni ). From what she has told me, it’s some type of thing where tons of Russians camp out and sing songs. Here’s their organizational site – http://www.kspus.org/ , if that’s any help. I’m not a fan of non-professional singers, but if you need the social element, this might be a possibility for you.
Move to Moscow.
See you answered your own Question that’s a great idea.
also you could go to a big school that has a variety of languages to choose from *Russian* and study it.
I feel the same way im Romanian and wish i could read and write, well reading is a little easy
Actually, it’s very simple. You can find some native Russian pen-pals and communicate regularly.
For this you can use Russian analog of this project http://otvet.mail.ru/ – it’s totally in Russian, and there are thousands of people there… Can you read Russian? Just choose the category you like, and go ahead! You can ask your question in English there, many people speak English and will gladly talk to you.
Or you can read THIS project carefully. This is what I found: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aox.NvGv28rvnCOCD5bqUkcjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20080220141105AA45Ogq
I hope it will help a little. Good luck!
