Which language is harder to learn Russian or Mandarin Chinese?
I wanna learn a language through Rosetta stone, but I can only afford one language so I'm wondering what your opinions are on the two. Also I wanted to ask, which country is more aggressive. From what I've herd Russians are brute and aggressive, but Isn't China a communist country so they're really strict and cruel? Please answer with and opinions. Thank you very much:)
Also for example of which country is more aggressive; Say you break a law, which country would handle it more aggressive. Would they beat you or would you be given similar rights as Americans do?

I think it was Russian, because Russian pronunciation is difficult, and recommend a Web site that can help you.
Of course it is Chinese
Of course Mandarian is much difficult to learn.
You have to remember both the pronounciation and the characters.
But China is a fine country. The people here is friendly and kindhearted.
The Chinese government is OK as well.
You will also feel free and happy in China.
Mandarin Chinese
Mandarin-More things to learn from scratch. No alphabet, tones, counting words.
Both places have very different attitudes toward acceptable social interaction, treatment of women, political difference of opinion. Neither is a Western country and May be deemed cruel or brutal and it is probably true, nut they have different history, and different values. Middle Eastern Countries are also quite brutal
I lived in Hong Kong. I have no fondness for the PRC government, however I am also very put off by Russian culture. That is only my biased opinion.
Mandarin is more difficult for a westerner, for sure. Not only do you have to contend with a system of writing that includes thousands of individual characters, but the meaning of a word can vary wildly depending on the tone of the syllables.
As for aggression, that’s a very subjective question. China is probably less ‘free’, if that’s what you’re asking. Russian culture might value the traditional idea of masculinity more though, I guess. Both nations are highly nationalistic.
