Which language to learn Russian or Mandarin?

I am looking to learn a language, mostly for business, and not sure which one to learn.
Currently I am working in Singapore and there is a lot of people who already speak English and Mandarin so I am not sure if it will be really beneficial.
Any advice?

Mandarin. It is the most widely spoken language in the WORLD.
We do a lot more business with China than Russia. Go with Chinese.
I don’t know anybody learning Russian. That may be different if you stay in Asia. But if you come to the USA Chinese will be much more valuable.
I myself am studying Russian, which has a phonetic alphabet. Mandarin does not. If you are only interested in spoken language, then Mandarin is probably easier. If you want a workable alphabet, choose Russian.
I agree with Earl. I’d also like to add that Chinese grammar is much easier to wrap the mind around than Russian. The writing’s a b*tch, but manageable. Totally worth the easy grammar.
Well, Russian is actually kinda easy, just learn cyliric. Unlike Mandarin…
Вы должны выучить русского, своя очень легкой и,不象汉语.
It is definitely good to know Mandarin in SIngapore. From then on, you can learn Cantonese which is widely used in Hong Kong and all Western Nations (Chinese population). From Mandarin you can also learn to speak Hokkien, which is also widely used in SEA nations and Taiwan.
There are many Chinese in SEA (South East Asia). People will be doubly impressed if you can speak Chinese and Chinese dialects. Trust me…
And furthermore, China is the wakening dragon. Chinese language and culture will be seen more and more often in the world. Its best to learn Chinese seriously.
