Very simple answer: Yahoo only goes where there is money to be made, meaning that the amount of people living in a country don’t count if not enough companies would be willing to advertise on YA and all other country specific Yahoo pages – also, if the general income per person in any given country is below a certain level. Yahoo is a commercial company, otherwise we wouldn’t be subjected to advertisements all the time. Sorry, but I believe you may have no chance to post questions in Russian for quite some time…:-(
That’s actually weird, Taiwan is a very small country and Russia is the biggest. Maybe you can contact them and make a suggestion.
They probably would not allow postings in Russian, but not having them is discriminatory. I also think that it’s a question of residual anti communism non the part of Y/A. Let’s fight to get one. NO TO CENSORSHIP
They DO have it. You can reach it from your Home screen in Y!A.
Select as follows: Home > Travel > Europe (Continental) > Russia
It may have made more sense to list under "language," but Enjoy!
You could also try: Home > Society & Culture > Languages
& then be gin each question, "RUSSIAN / (Russian spelling): …(and ask ?) "
That would grab the attention of another Russian speaker.
I think both would be acceptable. If not, you know Y!A will tell (violate) you soon enough, but always appeal in case they made a mistake because you were merely being "trolled."
